Alexander Wilson
Scottish typefounder (1714-1786) who established the Wilson foundry in 1742 at St Andrews before moving it to Glasgow. Also a surgeon, astronomer, glassblower, and meteorologist, he was appointed to run the Old College Observatory in Glasgow in 1757.
